Another week, another Stanley Park wedding! This Time Ben Howland captured the day and you’re in for a real treat with this one! Nikita & Luke did the wedding thing right. Their guests arrived an hour before the ceremony for a drink or two (or four) We had some sneaky tunes playing, beers on ice and lawn games ready. Their guests mingled and caught up with old friends over a beer while Nikita & Luke were catching up on their own with a first look. I love the first look idea, it gets the nerves out of your system and you are so much more comfortable! This means you can actually enjoy your ceremony instead of being a nervous wreck and wishing it away.
Nikita didn’t miss the chance to show Luke her pockets... in her dress! *women all over the world gasp with excitement, we f***ing love pockets!
Wed By Kez gathered 130 guests under the fig tree while Nikita & Luke walked down the aisle together! As my good friend Barefoot & Bearded would say... Fuck traditions!
The ceremony was 20 minutes of weird stories and belly laughs. Basically some bloke put on a wig and everyone lost their minds.
The knot was tied and the partying continued over by the barn. Rad Pizza Co had the place smelling like Italy while Mane Events set the mood. Luke chose Mountain Goat Beer but this bunch of lads opted for the rosé, drinking the weddings worth of rosé within a few hours (it was bloody good rosé)
The weather couldn't have been more perfect, the rain stayed away so Nikita & Luke held their speeches on the lawn. There were tonnes of laughs and just as many tears, this was a very tight knit bunch.
At 6:30 the cocktail bar opened, we had Blueberry & lime gin & tonic, Dark n stormy and Caprioskas on offer. No one cared about the absent rosé at this point!
The pizzas kept coming, the tunes got louder (and dirtier) and shit got loose.
There's not a wedding we've attended where we don't leave feeling super grateful to be a part of the day. We aren't just serving your drinks, we're laughing and crying with you (speeches do me)!
